Inn at Woodhaven

Louisville’s Best Boutique Shops for Gifts and Souvenirs

While the Bourbon Trail or the Kentucky Derby may draw the biggest crowds to Louisville, there is so much to see and do in this town. From an award-winning restaurant scene to museums for all interests, Louisville has become a real treat for our bed and breakfast guests at the Inn at Woodhaven. This month we’re featuring our favorite boutique shops in the area to find the most unique gifts and souvenirs that reflect our local history and culture. Pick a few of your favorites to visit or follow our guide for a full day of boutique shopping fun.

 Boutique Shopping In NuLu

One of our favorite areas for eclectic shopping and unique gifts is Louisville’s NuLu district. Nulu’s roots trace back to the 1800s when East Market Street was a bustling commercial corridor. Over time the area experienced decline, but a revitalization began in the early 2000s. Spearheaded by artists, entrepreneurs, and preservationists, NuLu is now a stylish and walkable district where historic charm meets modern trends.

Revelry Boutique + Gallery

Located at 742 E. Market St., Revelry is a feast for the eyes, showcasing curated jewelry, prints, home accents, and kids’ items. Their products are all crafted by over 150 regional artists, with rotating features in their store and online. This is a great place to grab some artisan-made ceramics, screen-printed tea towels, or framed prints that capture Louisville’s spirit.

Market St., this family-owned boutique is run by one of six sisters and features women’s fashion in sizes XS to 3X. They have plenty of accessories for your new outfit, but also feature kids’ wear, home decor and giftware.

On top of that, Six Sisters strives to create an inclusive environment with their  mission to source more Women Owned, LGBTQ+ Owned, and BIPOC Owned brands, and fosters diverse fashion to all.

Red Tree NuLu

Part home-decor showroom, part whimsical curiosity cabinet– Red Tree is the sort of shop where you can stumble onto funky fridge magnets one moment and avant-garde prints from a local artist the next. The story has a quirky charm and is backed with unusual surprises at each turn. This is a great boutique to visit if you’re looking for offbeat home accents, like their Charlie Golden Duck wall mount sculpture, or novelty gift items to remember your Louisville explorations. Located at 701 E. Market St., don’t leave without taking a photo in their famous Umbrella Alley!

Peace of the Earth & The Refillery

Eco-conscious travelers will appreciate Peace of the Earth’s fair-trade, environmentally friendly, and whole-body focused shop that features natural bath and body products, organic teas, and spiritual goods. For local Louisville residents, take advantage of their Refillery, where you can bring your own containers and refill them with soaps, shampoo, detergents, and other cleaning products and only pay for the product you fill. This helps reduce packaging waste, while giving you a high-quality product at a more affordable price… particularly if you take advantage of their Monday and Thursday Refillery happy hour! Peace of the Earth is located at 801 E. Market St. and The Refillery is located at 2200 Dundee Road.

If you’re looking for gifts or souvenirs, we recommend their handmade soaps, aromatic salts, and artisanal tea blends to enjoy back at the Inn at Woodhaven or in your own home.

Hazel + Hunt

If you are a t-shirt collector from your travel experiences, then Hazel + Hunt is your go-to boutique shop for all your Louisville apparel. This boutique specializes in Kentucky‑printed apparel and goods—think bold tees and casual wear emblazoned with local pride. Their derby, bourbon, and local food scene focus make the perfect souvenirs to commemorate your trip. Located at 826 R East Main St., this shop is outside of the main NuLu shopping center, so make sure you take a detour over to their location.

Beyond NuLu: Louisville’s Unique Treasures

NuLu is not your only stop to find some exciting and impressive boutique shopping experiences that are filled with local flavor. Hop in an Uber or take your car, because these shops are worth the trip.
