Yes, breakfast is in the name of what we do and we take that roll, I mean role, seriously. Yes, we agree it’s the most important meal of the day. But a well-rounded vacation experience means more than handing you a slice of our oh-so-perfectly crisped bacon and sending you on your way. Here are three ways we strive to exceed expectations when it comes to keeping you fed.

Way #1: Fresh-baked cookies & cordials

There is nothing like spending a day walking the grounds of Churchill Downs or touring Kentucky’s famous Bourbon Trail to work up an appetite. You don’t want anything too big because the culinary scene around Louisville is not to be missed. Never fear— Mark always has a jar of home-made cookies waiting for you in the hall of the Inn at Woodhaven. 

Then, when you’re finally ready to retreat, swing by the parlor to enjoy one of our cordials. Our treat for all guests (over the age of 21). Then retire to the plush custom-made, European Kingsdown mattress in your private room. These small, but important details are part of our way to say “thanks for staying with us.”

Way #2: We’ll pack you a picnic

Louisville has an incredible park system, many of which were designed by the renowned landscape architect, Fredrick Law Olmsted. But walking the trails or catching a local outdoor concert shouldn’t leave you starving for more. If you know when a picnic lunch would be perfect for you, let us know you’d like this vacation package in advance and we’ll happily prepare one for you. I know we said this section was about more than just breakfast, but we’d be remiss not to mention what makes our breakfast stand out from many other bed & breakfast locations. Some people envision the morning meal at a bed and breakfast to be whatever the innkeeper chooses, served when they choose, around a big shared table. 

While we’re all about community, we know that our visitors enjoy an experience that is a bit more flexible with their schedule. So whether you’re joining us after a late-night flight or you are of the early-bird variety, you can enjoy your meal from 7:30 to 9:30am each day, with our continental breakfast available at 7:00am. For your enjoyment, our dining room is furnished with separate tables and fine china.

And let’s talk about the menu! From our savory cage-free eggs and crisp bacon to our organic fruit and signature caramel french toast casserole (and more), there are options for everyone. We are proud to offer gluten free options, vegan sausage, and egg whites to accommodate certain dietary restrictions— but please let us know in advance if you’ll be needing any of these.

Then, book your reservation for dinner and enjoy a $50 gift certificate to Watch Hill Proper bourbon bar & kitchen. Watch Hill Proper boasts the largest bourbon collection in the U.S. Finish off the experience by indulging in an “Envy of Angels” bourbon flight once you return to the Inn.

Way #5: The Revive & Rejuvenate Detox Retreat

If health and wellness is at the center of your Inn at Woodhaven vacation, then our Detox Add-on package is the perfect blend of the luxury, relaxation, and health optimization you’ve been seeking. We’ve partnered with local business, Cryo-Lounge, for you to receive a two-hour visit to their facility that includes a full-body cryotherapy session, a localized cryotherapy treatment, compression therapy, lymphatic infrared roller treatment, a body-slimming treadmill workout, and time in their soothing infrared sauna. 

The detox journey doesn’t end there. Once you return to the Inn at Woodhaven you’ll get daily healthy smoothies, crafted by the innkeepers, to enjoy and replenish. We have invested extensively in refurbishing and restoring these historic details, while also ensuring that our guests are met with so many of the comforts we enjoy today— including newly renovated bathrooms, fresh pillows and plush mattresses, and gas fireplaces in several of the rooms.
